Assaluallakum,

Recently I was robbed and the culprits took all my electronics. Allhumdulliah i am okay and i ask allah to forgive all the people who commit crimes and help them come on the right path, Ameen.

Because of this it has become harder and harder to post because i do not have a computer of my own. The computer’s at school are not sufficient because they limit you on what you are able to do.

Due to this

and
Deen +Duniyah

Will be taking a break. I am very sad to do this right before TDC and winter break. I was very excited to be blogging live there but unfortunately I will not be able to. Inshallah I will try to have a computer by then. So, Until i get a new computer the post will become very scarce.

BUT i promise you inshallah
as soon as i get a new computer i will come back full force and not stop in helping the muslim ummah. May allah help all of us to achieve the best we can in the afterlife and this life. I am very sad to be writing this post because i had a lot of plans for TDC and the upcoming year of really energizing this blog. I wanted also to start helping people who wanted to blog and helping to finance them. Inshallah in the upcoming year all this will happen.

Please pray that i am able to come back so that i may began to blog again. It was a lot of fun and i want to continue. So until we meet again please keep reading listing and asking questions that will further your status in this Ummah. May allah help all of you, ameen.

Assaluallakum,
Abdullah Zain

Question
Ahmad The Repenter:Asalaamu Alaykum. I was listening to one of your responses on copyright issues,Now I wanted to know, that the Islamic lectures which are produced and have copyright labels; shouldn’t we obey it because lets look at it this way:All the time and effort to record that lecture, then all the time and effort to edit and all the time and effort to make the cover and to make copies onto dvd and to place them in cases. now if we look at all of this it all adds up money, weather the ink, cd’s etc..And lets say an Islamic organization sells Islamic lectures and they produce it. Are we not suppose to support them by buying the product so they can produce more islamic lectures in the future and also people do this job as a living, so is the copyright feature haram to have after all these points are into thought? So Insh’Allah can you clear up things for me.May Allah reward you brother Shaykh Feiz Insh’Allah with the best of rewards Jannah.Wasalaam Walakum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.
Answer
Sheikh Feiz:
Asalaamu Alaykum warahmatAllah wabarakatahu.
Dear brother Ahmad the Repenter i ask the Almighty to increase your knowledge, knowledge that is implemented then taught then patience in the face of adversity is observed.
I appreciate your understanding to this issue, the issue of copyright in islam, and i do respect your view. However there are a few things that i believe that should be looked at before passing any judgements on this issue, for indeed it is an issue of great controversy.

The Archbishop of Canterbury set of a controversy on February 7, 2008 by saying on BBC Radio that he supported some parts of Islamic Law Also known as Shar’ia.

Shar’ia Law Explained.
(Remember this is Wikipedia so take it lightly. )

Here is the Interview Which Sparked the controversy:

Now the Archbishop first refused to apologize about the comments. This is what he had to say about the matter, “I must of course take responsibility for any unclarity either in that text or in the radio interview and for any misleading use of words that has helped to cause distress or misunderstanding among the public at large or especially my fellow Christians”

But, He still believed that Shar’ia law is right. Now he is not saying to enact all parts of it but he is merely saying that if there are other religions allowed to have there own courts and laws then, why not Muslims. He is not saying we have the Shari’a law run parallel to the UK government but underneath it.

Of course under pressure from his church and the people the Archbishop did apologize for distress but, held fast to the opinion that Shar’ia Law needs to be enacted

“A HUMBLED Archbishop of Canterbury was yesterday forced to clarify his remarks on Sharia law after admitting they had caused “distress” – but insisted he was right to raise the controversial subject.

Dr Rowan Williams told the General Synod that some of the points he had tried to make about Sharia law being recognised in English law had been “distorted” as the debate raged for a fifth day.

But he stressed that the Church had a “burden and privilege” to speak up for all faith communities, adding: “I hope we can use it well – however clumsily it may have been deployed in this instance.”

The debate will never end.

Muslim Matters : Porn

• In 2000, there were 11,000 adult titles vs. Hollywood’s 400 releases (New York Times, May 20, 2001, “Naked Capitalists: There’s No Business Like Porn Business,” Frank Rich)

• Pornographers claim pornography offers greater fulfillment, performance and freedom in one’s sexual life. Is that true, or just an enticement they use to make money?

• Sexual addiction counselors may recommend 3-9 months without television for a person with a heavy pornography addiction, enabling them to heal from being so sexualized. (Commercials provide eye-candy fixes.)

“The more pornography a man views, the less in love he feels with his wife.” (Don’t Take Love Lying Down, Brad Henning, pg. 388)

Pornographic Websites: 4.2 million (12% of all websites)

May Allah help all the people in this world with this great fitnah. May he keep us safe and far away from it.
